Bipolarized is a feature-length documentary that challenges the current medical model of mental illness. After being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Ross McKenzie was prescribed lithium and told he would need to take it for the rest of his life to maintain his sanity.
Unwilling to accept a chemically altered future, Ross embarked on a global journey to find the root cause of his mental breakdown. Using alternative treatments, somatic therapy, and radical lifestyle changes, Ross slowly weaned himself off medication—against his doctor's orders—and reclaimed his health.
Raw, controversial, and deeply personal, Bipolarized is not just a film about mental illness; it is a call to action for a more holistic understanding of human trauma and healing.
